CUSTOMER: Loyalty not rewarded

My mother, Virginia Stanton, will be 95 in September. She has shopped at the Fred Meyer store every week since they opened. Mom has their rewards card and WAS considered a “Best Customer.” I say was because last week they refused to accept her personal check since she didn’t have a driver’s license. The cashier stated they had a new cash checking provider and needed a picture ID.

In the public school arena where dollars are tight, it is not easy to make a decision that may have an adverse economic impact on the local district.
