Accident on Larch Street injures woman, two dogs

SANDPOINT — A 61-year-old woman and her two dogs were struck by a car while in a crosswalk near Super 1 Foods last Friday, Oct. 3, according to the Sandpoint Police Department.

Sandpoint Police Chief Corey Coon said the woman was crossing the street near Larch Street and Sixth Avenue on Friday morning, when the incident occurred. Bonner County EMS transported the woman to Bonner General Health ER for further treatment, according to EMS Chief Jeff Lindsey. Sandpoint PD transported the two dogs to Pend Oreille Veterinary Service for care.  

The condition of the woman and her two dogs was not specified by the agencies. 

Bonner County EMS, Sandpoint PD, Sandpoint Fire Department and Idaho State Police responded to the incident.  

Coon said the case has been turned over to ISP for investigation. ISP officials have not yet responded to requests for comment or further information.
