SANDPOINT — The city is asking residents to prepare for the annual branch pick up which is set to begin on Monday, April 20.

Public Works Director Holly Ellis said that residents should trim their trees seven feet above the sidewalk and 14 feet above the streets. Once cut down and collected, the branches should be put in a pile, no bigger than four inches in diameter and six feet in length, parallel on the curb line so that city crews can come by and pick them up, Ellis said.

“We are making one route through town, so please make sure that you have your branches out there by 7 a.m. April 20,” Ellis said.

City officials said that larger branches, leaves, grass clippings and other yard debris will not be collected, and that crews will not remove mixed piles. More information can be found at sandpointidaho.com/news.
