SANDPOINT — Riley Beggerly, Gio Faroni, Ben Middleton and Spiro Petras have created Bonners Ferry High School history. 

With their performance in the 4x100 meters relay at the Lake Pend Oreille Invitational on April 11, the four individuals broke a 37-year-old school record, finishing the race with a time of 44.71 seconds. They broke the previous best time, which was set in 1989 by Tyler Coffey, Andy Howe, Mike Mark and Travis Hinthorn.  

In the eight-team tournament, Bonners Ferry finished in second place for both the boys and girls, behind Sandpoint on both sides. 

Senior James Morgen won the shot put (45 feet, 2 inches) and junior Riley Beggerly won the long jump (20 feet, 0.5 inches).  

Senior Hallie Hartman, who recently won the shot put at the Oregon Relays in Eugene, placed first again on Saturday with a mark of 42 feet, 10 inches. Senior Hana Hartman won the discus with a hurl of 116 feet, 1 inch for the Lady Badgers.  

Bonners Ferry girls track was also victorious in the 4x100 relay. Avah Archibald, Ireland Grady, Eva Willis and Ruby Law ran a 54.56. 

Micah Thomson finished third with a 2:12.90 time. Devin Sceppe placed third in the 300-meter hurdles in 47.39 seconds. 

Grady Atkins was third in the shotput with 39-3.5. James Morgen third in discus with a 129-foot, 10-inch throw. Logan Archibald was third in the pole vault with a 12-foot jump. Shane Rice placed third in the high jump with a five-foot, eight-inch jump.    

Kylie Calderone finished second in the 3200 in 12:57.56. Ireland Grady had a time to honor the founding of America, finishing second in the 100 hurdles, running it in 17.76 seconds.  

Hana Hartman, Hallie Hartman, Halory Stanley and Jessica Johnson finished first in the 4x100 throwers relay, finishing in 1:05.85.  

Hana Hartman finished second in shot put with a 37-foot, seven-inch throw. Hallie Hartman finished second in discus with a 112-foot, five-inch throw.    

Ireland Grady was third in the pole vault, with seven feet. Eva Willis was third in high jump with a four-foot, ten-inch jump.
