BONNERS FERRY — With the completion of baseball, softball, golf and track and field, spring sports are officially over, bringing an end to the 2025-26 high school sports calendar.
Football
Bonners Ferry had its second-best football season in the past 20 years. The Badgers went 7-3, finishing undefeated at home, winning their conference and defeating rival Timberlake 71-14. Toward the end of the season, the team won five consecutive games.
Girls Soccer
The Badgers had a solid girls soccer season, finishing 7-8 overall and 6-4 in league play. Highlights included a 2-1 victory over Timberlake and a 7-2 road win against St. Maries.
Boys Soccer
The boys soccer team had a successful fall season, finishing 12-10 overall and 7-3 in conference play, good for third place in the conference standings. One highlight was a five-game winning streak that included a 10-2 victory over St. Maries.
Volleyball
The Bonners Ferry volleyball team endured a difficult fall season, finishing 5-18 overall and 1-3 in district play. However, from Oct. 4-9, the Badgers won three consecutive matches while dropping only two sets during that stretch.
Cross Country
The boys cross country team qualified for state, with five runners competing at the Idaho state meet alongside girls runner Kylie Calderone. For the girls team, a season highlight was placing first at the Ben Castro Invitational.
Boys Basketball
What a season it was for the Bonners Ferry boys basketball team. Despite losing several starters from the previous two state championship teams, the Badgers overcame a 4-6 start to reach the state championship game for the fourth consecutive season. Although they fell short of another title, it was another memorable season for Badger basketball.
Girls Basketball
Despite being a young team, the Badgers excelled away from home, posting a 6-3 road record. At one point during the season, they won seven of eight games and finished with an 11-9 overall record.
Wrestling
Several Bonners Ferry wrestlers competed at the state tournament after months of competition throughout the winter season. Taylor Dodd stood out by winning his first state championship. It would not be the last state title earned by Bonners Ferry athletes this year.
Track and Field
Bonners Ferry enjoyed a successful track and field season, with the boys 4x100-meter relay team breaking the school record twice and now holding the top three times in school history. Hana and Hallie Hartman also excelled, with each winning an individual state title in discus and shot put, respectively.
Baseball
The baseball team faced a difficult season, finishing 5-17 overall. However, there were several bright spots, including a doubleheader sweep of Kellogg on opening day. In the district playoffs against Timberlake, the Badgers rallied from a seven-run deficit before ultimately falling short.
Softball
Bonners Ferry softball also faced a challenging season, finishing 2-14 overall. Both victories came in a doubleheader sweep against Priest River before the season ended with a loss to Timberlake.
