Pine Street paving project to continue May 1

SANDPOINT — The milling and paving improvement project on Pine Street is set to return on May 1 and be completed by mid-May, according to Sandpoint officials.
During active construction, drivers should expect full closure of Pine Street between Division Avenue and Boyer Avenue. The project included improvements to curb ramps, which were completed last fall before winter weather forced the city to put the project on hold.
Sandpoint’s urban forester, Erik Bush, said last October that the project will increase the life span of the asphalt on Pine Street by around 15 to 20 years. The staff report released last October states that the project will cost the city $287,596, funded by the resort city tax.
Construction is set to run between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., with on-street parking prohibited when crews are paving.
