PREP GOLF: Young making it a season to remember

BLANCHARD — In his first high school season, Bonners Ferry High School freshman Patrick Young is showing out on the golf course. 

Young claimed first place at the Priest River Invitational on April 23 with a 1-over-par 72, shooting 36 on both the front and back nine at StoneRidge Golf Course. His score was a massive 11 strokes lower than the second-placed contender. 

Rowdy Hull recorded a 93 and finished in 12th place for Bonners Ferry. Gabe Warren shot a 99, with Tyler Cordle and Kai Aitken shooting a 107 and 109 respectively.

On the girls side, Eleanor Sheets shot a 125 and Sondra Fairchild shot a 118. 

The Bonners Ferry boys golf team finished in third place, ahead of rivals Timberlake, with Priest River taking the gold. 

Bonners Ferry will be back in action on April 27 for the Genesis Prep Invitational at the Links Golf Club in Post Falls.
