Away to the Timberlake Tigers in the district playoffs on April 28, Bonners Ferry High School was unable to come up with a win, leaving their backs up against the wall. The Badgers require two wins on April 29 and 30 at Timberlake to keep their season alive.
Kordale Burt had the only hit for Bonners Ferry, while a walk from Gavin Rider and a hit by pitch of Jack Woods were the only other baserunners for the away team.
Gavin Rider was the best pitcher for Bonners Ferry, striking out four batters in 2.2 innings of work.
The game got away from the Badgers immediately, as Timberlake put up seven runs in the bottom of the first inning, before adding six more runs in the fourth. With Bonners Ferry unable to score through five innings, the game ended in a 13-run loss. They will aim to bounce back.
The Badgers are 5-16 overall and 1-3 in league play.
The results and recap of the series will be available in next week's Herald.
