MOSES LAKE — The Sandpoint Sharks wrapped up another stellar meet while welcoming some new swimmers last weekend.
At the Sizzlin' Summer Splash in Moses Lake, the Sharks saw Aspen Chapman, Adeline Beck, Nina Mann, Owen Bult and Emmaline Martinssen join the long-course swimmer ranks. Both Mann and Bult picked up several stellar results at the meet, with Mann taking seventh place in the 100-meter fly swim in her age group and Bult notching a sixth-place swim in the 50-meter breaststroke.
"All five had an amazing meet and confidently dove off the starting blocks for the first time," Sharks head coach Emily Renzini said.
Charley-Rain Olpin, swimming in the 11-12-year-old division, was absolutely dominant at the meet. Of the eight races Olpin swam, she won seven of them, notching victories in the 200-meter IM, 200-meter freestyle, 50-meter backstroke, 100-meter fly, 50-meter free, 50-meter fly and the 100-meter freestyle.
In many cases, Olpin won her races by double-digit seconds, like the 200-meter IM, which she won with a 2:47.26. The next closest competitor in her age group was over 10 seconds off her pace at 3:00.48.
For her efforts, Olpin was awarded the High Point Award, an honor given to the individual who scores the most total points in their age group. Olpin is no stranger to the award, as she won it back in December 2025 at the SWAT Winter Invite.
Joshua Jackson had a similarly impressive meet, winning five of his seven swims. The 14-year-old won the 400-meter freestyle, 200-meter backstroke, 100-meter freestyle, 200-meter freestyle and the 50-meter freestyle. In the races he did not win, he was close behind in second each time.
The Sharks coaching staff also applauded Carter Hutchens for his efforts at the Sizzlin' Summer Splash. Hutchens' best finish of the meet was a 14th-place finish in the 100-meter breaststroke.
"Carter looked especially strong in the water," Renzini said. "He is one of those athletes who truly enjoys both training and racing, and his hard work continues to shine every time he competes."
Swim coach Dana Jackson said she was very proud of the entire team's effort and how much work they've put into the summer season. Renzini said the team did an amazing job, and the team continues to make the coaches and families proud.
