BONNERS FERRY — A Coeur d’Alene man has entered a guilty plea for two charges related to sexual abuse. 

As part of a pretrial settlement, Scott Smith, 49, pleaded guilty to one count of lewd conduct with a minor under 16 and one count of rape when the victim is under 18. 

Initially, Smith was charged with three counts of rape and one count of lewd conduct, but two rape charges were dropped as part of the plea deal. 

He will be sentenced May 20 in Boundary County court on the two felonies.
