After Gio Faroni, Ben Middleton, Spiro Petras and Riley Beggerly broke the Bonners Ferry High School 4x100-meter record on April 11, Petras said, “Expect that record to be broken again.”  

He was right. 

The four individuals ran the 4x100 in 44.37 seconds on April 30, breaking their own record by .34 seconds to set a new Badger benchmark in the event.  

Their performance was just one of several top displays from Bonners Ferry High School athletes, who competed at the District 1 Meet of Champions at Post Falls High School on April 30. 

The top 16 individuals and eight relay teams in District 1 qualified for the all-star meet. Not every event had a Bonners Ferry participant, resulting in the Badgers finishing in seventh and tenth place in the girls and boys standings, respectively. 

Hallie Hartman took home first in the shot put, while also placing second in the discus. Eva Willis picked up the other first place for the Badgers, which came in the long jump. She was also fourth in the high jump.  

Hana Hartman was third in the shot put and fourth in the discus.

On the boys side, Beggerly was second in the long jump. Logan Archibald placed on the podium, finishing third in the high jump. James Morgen was third in shot put.
