PREP GOLF: Bateman second at Priest River

BLANCHARD — Bonners Ferry junior Callie Bateman shot a 94, finishing in second place out of 19 golfers at the Priest River Invitational II held Thursday at the Stoneridge Resort Golf Course.  

Nolie Hiatt finished right behind Bateman, her score of 98 good enough for a third-placed finish as Bonners Ferry girls golf finished in second place out of four teams. 

Sondra Fairchild shot a 108 to finish third for the Badgers, while Lily Bremer and Eleanor Sheets (128) tied. 

Bonners Ferry High freshman Patrick Young placed fifth in the boys division with an 8-over-par 82. In total, the Badgers were 21 strokes behind the Priest River Spartans and placed third as a team.

Tyler Cordle was second best for Bonners Ferry with a 93, with Gabe Warren (97), Marvin Michaels (100) and Rowdy Hull (100) the other three golfers.
