For the 13th year in a row, STCU is providing grants to local teachers across Washington, North Idaho and Eastern Oregon.

This year, 24 Idaho teachers received $200 for their classrooms, three of whom hail from the Lake Pend Oreille School District. LPOSD teachers Joanna Storms from Kootenai Elementary, Laticia Mullen from Lake Pend Oreille High School and Deanna Giard from Sagle Elementary all received the grant from STCU for classroom supplies.

In Boundary County, Shelly Hoisington, a teacher at Valley View Elementary, and Michelle ReBecca, a teacher at the North Idaho Classical Academy, will also receive the award.

“STCU, which was founded by high school teachers in 1934, is again honoring its roots by awarding a total of $20,000 to 100 randomly drawn educators across their footprint,” Dan Hansen, STCU’s public information officer, wrote in a press release. “Winners can spend their grants on anything that will enhance students’ classroom experience, whether a basic need or something special.”
